Coca-Cola HBC B-H and partners Konzum BiH and Pika Kartica continue this year in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the "Recycle me. Give me a new life" project. Containers for the collection of PET packaging will be placed in seven selected Konzum and Mercator sales facilities in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Tuzla, Zenica and Mostar, and the activity will last from June 13 to July 18, 2026.
Waste can be disposed of every Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, and citizens who dispose of a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 100 pieces of PET packaging will have the opportunity to earn 0.10 KM BONUS MARKS on their Pika Card for each piece. The disposal of the collected packaging is provided by the project partners, the companies Ekopak and Eurobeta, who will ensure that all collected PET packaging is properly recycled to the highest standards and used for a new purpose.
The goal of the project is to encourage citizens to adopt waste disposal habits and raise awareness of the importance of recycling PET packaging, with a concrete model of rewarding those who actively participate in it. It is a way to make small, everyday habits a useful routine that contributes to a cleaner and tidier environment.
"Sustainability is a long-term strategic direction for Coca-Cola in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and waste management, especially PET packaging, is therefore one of our priorities. With the project "Recycle me. Give me a new life.", we have introduced practices aimed at preserving the environment through partnerships and changing citizens' habits. In the previous three seasons of the project, the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina have already shown that our initiative is worth it, and in the previous season alone, over six Saturdays, they collected more than 200 thousand PET bottles. Every step towards a more sustainable society is important, and small changes in everyday habits make a big difference for a future in which we manage resources more responsibly," said Igor Zgrabljić, Director of the Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Department at Coca-Cola HBC Adria.
"The "Recycle me. Give me a new life" project has been confirming for the fourth year in a row that responsible packaging waste management is not just a corporate obligation, but a concrete change that every citizen can make every Saturday. At Konzum and the Fortenova Group, environmental protection is one of the key pillars of our ESG strategy, and partnerships like this with Coca-Cola show that systemic changes occur when business and social goals coincide. Last season alone, more than 200,000 PET bottles were collected, which is proof that our customers share that vision," said Adisa Zimić, Head of Marketing at Konzum.
With the new slogans: Every bottle counts, recycle and save and Bring PET bottles, earn BONUS marks, Coca-Cola HBC B-H, in partnership with Konzum and Pika Kartica, the project contributes to the achievement of the goal of collecting and recycling 70% of produced packaging by 2035.
Therefore, everyone is invited to join the common mission of fighting plastic waste and show that small habits make a big difference.
