Coca-Cola HBC B-H presented its fourth Sustainability Report

Sustainable growth through partnerships, innovation, and responsible business

Coca-Cola HBC B-H Sarajevo has presented its fourth Sustainability Report. The report covers results achieved in 2024 and reaffirms the company’s continuous commitment to sustainability, innovation, and creating shared value in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In 2024, Coca-Cola HBC B-H made progress across all key areas of sustainability. The company reduced its direct CO₂ emissions by 66% compared to 2017, and 100% of the electricity used in production comes from renewable sources. Additionally, 100% of the packaging used is recyclable, while efforts continue to increase the share of recycled PET material.

The presentation of the Report took place during the “100 EXPO” conference, which also featured a fireside chat with Dimitris Rompis, General Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Adria, and Maša Marković, Head of Industry at the Sarajevo Film Festival.

“For us, sustainability is not an obligation but a strategic choice. We have integrated it into every decision we make, every partnership we build, and every bottle we produce. This clear vision and long-term responsibility form the foundation of our business strategy. Our goal is simple – to grow responsibly, act with purpose, and create shared value for everyone. Partnerships, along with care for our employees’ wellbeing and investment in their development, are the foundation of our success,” said Dimitris Rompis, General Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Adria.

Through youth empowerment projects – Youth Empowered BiH and Raise the Bar Youth – 934 young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina improved their skills and employability in 2024 alone. At the same time, 17% of employees participated in volunteer activities, confirming that sustainability is deeply embedded in the company’s culture.

At the conference, it was emphasized that the business sector and institutions share a common responsibility in accelerating the transition toward a more sustainable economic model.

Representing the Sarajevo Film Festival, Maša Marković highlighted the importance of the long-standing partnership with Coca-Cola in Bosnia and Herzegovina: “The Festival is not just a cultural event but also a powerful platform for promoting sustainability. Joint initiatives like ‘Recycle Me. Give Me a New Life.’ show that art and business can inspire social change together.”

Coca-Cola HBC B-H has been operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1969, employing over 300 people, working with over 600 local suppliers, and serving 15,000 customers nationwide. In partnership with business associations and organizations, it continues to improve the business environment in line with sustainable and ethical principles. Notably, 44% of managerial positions at Coca-Cola HBC B-H are held by women.

The 2024 Sustainability Report was prepared in accordance with the latest GRI Standards (2021) and represents an important step toward achieving the company’s global Net Zero by 2040 ambition.
