Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who participated in the third season of Coca-Cola's project Recycle me. Give me a new life. collected 202,114 PET bottles, proving that every bottle holds new value. They received more than BAM 20,000 in BONUS POINTS on their Pika Cards, and thanks to this result, these bottles will end up where they truly belong – in the recycling process, ready to get their new life.
The project, which Coca-Cola HBC B-H has been successfully implementing for the third consecutive year in cooperation with its partners Konzum BiH and Super Kartica with the Pika Kartica brand, has once again shown that small, everyday habits truly make a difference.
At seven locations – in seven Konzum and Mercator stores in Sarajevo, Mostar, Tuzla, Zenica and Banja Luka – every Saturday from June 14 to July 19, 2025, citizens brought plastic bottles and received BONUS POINTS for each packaging item, which they could immediately use in Konzum and Mercator stores.
“Through various partnerships, Recycle me. Give me a new life. confirms that projects like this truly make a difference. It also shows that sustainability is not an abstract concept – it is an everyday decision each of us makes. That is why, through our valuable partnership with Konzum and the Pika Card, we continue to invest effort into projects that promote responsible plastic disposal and encourage recycling habits. Every piece of PET packaging has the potential to become new value and should not end up in nature or at a landfill. That is why we continue working on concrete solutions and partnerships with the goal that not a single bottle ends up in nature,” said Igor Zgrabljić, Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Coca-Cola HBC Adria.
The project Recycle me. Give me a new life. has been raising awareness about the importance of recycling year after year, not only through the number of collected bottles but also by influencing the change of citizens' habits and spreading positive practices within the community. Thanks to the dedicated participation of citizens and the support of partners, the project has collected more than half a million plastic bottles over the course of three years.
“As a company that communicates daily with thousands of customers across Bosnia and Herzegovina, we are proud that through our partnership with Coca-Cola and Super Kartica we contribute to raising awareness about the importance of recycling and environmental protection. The results of the third season of the project once again confirm that citizens clearly recognize the value of responsible behavior toward packaging waste, and through initiatives like this we show that real change is achieved through joint action. Since sustainability is an important part of the business strategy of Konzum and the entire Fortenova Group, it is only natural that we place great focus on projects that protect our environment, as one of the pillars of ESG operations, and we will continue to actively support such projects,” said Emir Dobrača, Head of the Marketing Department at Konzum BiH.
Partners Ekopak and Eurobeta once again ensured that the collected waste was properly managed and recycled in accordance with the highest standards.
Through the project Recycle me. Give me a new life., which serves as a good example of promoting the circular economy, Coca-Cola, Konzum, and Pika Card have once again confirmed their commitment to socially responsible business and raising public awareness about the importance of proper packaging disposal.
Coca-Cola HBC B-H continues with projects that contribute to achieving its goal – to collect and recycle 70% of produced packaging by 2035. Every bottle matters, just as every step toward a more sustainable society matters.
