Second season of Coca-Cola project "Recycle me. Give me a new life." successfully implemented in partnership with Mercator and Pika Kartica

The result of this year's "Recycle me. Give me a new life." joint actions of Coca-Cola in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mercator in BiH and Pika Kartica is 227,644 PET bottles collected thus awarding 22,746.40 BONUS MARKS on Mercator Pika cards to all citizens, card holders, who diligently and devotedly participated in the action during June and July.

This year's action by partners Coca-Cola in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mercator in BiH and Pika Kartica showed that with a joint effort we can influence habits and properly dispose of PET packaging, giving it a new life. Consumers have, since early June, when the activity carried out as part of Coca-Cola's global program "World without Waste" officially commenced, brought bottles from their homes to six selected Mercator hypermarkets. Thus, they showed dedication and commitment to environmental protection through the recycling of XYZ amount of PET, and demonstrated that there is an awareness of the importance of responsible waste management.

"The past two years of project implementation have shown that a large number of citizens are engaged in collecting PET packaging for recycling. Coca-Cola in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a socially responsible company continuously works on innovation, establishment, development and preservation of partnerships for sustainability. A key component of all our strategies and activities is to increase the positive impact on the environment through joint activities with partners on responsible and proper disposal of packaging waste as a prerequisite for recycling," said Bruno Jelić, director of the Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Department at Coca-Cola HBC Adria.

Waste management is crucial in the fight against climate change. Recycling reduces the amount of waste in landfills, and saves energy and resources needed to produce new materials. Every step we take towards better waste management, whether it's recycling, composting or innovation in waste treatment, contributes to protection of the planet.
