We are proud to be listed on the Supplier Engagement Leaderboard for 2023, published by the CDP organization. Our place on that ranking shows how effectively we work with our supply chain partners on climate change issues.
Since more than 90% of our emissions belong to scope 3, we place emphasis on cooperation with suppliers in the field of packaging, ingredients and cooling devices.
Fewer than ten of our suppliers submitted their 2021 emissions data to CDP, so we launched an emissions reporting program for our suppliers. By the end of 2023:
- 189 of our significant suppliers reported their emissions through the CDP organization;
- 117 of our suppliers have established scientifically based target values or are committed to establishing them;
- the above 189 suppliers cover on average 26% of their needs for energy from renewable sources.
The emphasis of the CCHBC Supplier Conference 2023 was on jointly paving the way to a more sustainable future. About two hundred supply chain partners attended the conference, providing them with the inspiration and tools they need to start or continue their own sustainability efforts, and we recognized those who are already working to reduce emissions. The conference was based on expert data from the CDP and the World Economic Forum.
Our goal is to reach zero net emissions by 2040, and we can achieve this by cooperating with our partners and suppliers. We look forward to further sustainability efforts.
