Coca‑Cola HBC B-H Sarajevo launched a unique internship program, providing students with the opportunity to successfully prepare for a professional career by working with mentors, attending lectures and training sessions, and learning how the Coca‑Cola system operates

Sarajevo, 5 April 2016 – Coca‑Cola HBC B-H Sarajevo has launched a summer internship program - Coke Summership 2016. All third and fourth-year students, as well as those who have graduated in the last two years and first-year master students of accredited universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina are eligible to apply for the program.

Project management, presentation, leadership, business communication and efficient time management, as well as sales and marketing are just some of the areas in which the participants of the Coke Summership program will have the chance to develop and improve their skills.

All those interested, wanting to improve their employment prospects, gain new knowledge, and have a stimulating summer experience, can fill in the application form and take the online test, from 5 April to 15 May, on the following website: www.cokesummership.ba.

Following the closing of applications, the selection process will take place, and those chosen will attend the Coke Summership program during July and August. Upon completion of the program, all participants will be awarded an internship certificate and will be included in Coca‑Cola HBC B-H Sarajevo’s database of prospective employees.

“I am delighted that as we celebrate forty years of business in Bosnia and Herzegovina this year, we are launching the Coke Summership program and giving young people the chance to gain beneficial knowledge and encouraging them to contribute through their work to local community development in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I believe that the opportunity to acquire new practical knowledge in a system as large as Coca‑Cola will serve as further inspiration and motivation for the young and talented people participating in the summer internship program. The Coca‑Cola HBC B-H Sarajevo company continually provides its employees with opportunities to expand and enrich their knowledge, and the Coke Summership program presents them with an occasion to transfer their expertise and experience to students. I am confident that all of the program participants will recognise the opportunity for developing and improving the skills and competencies necessary to work in an increasingly demanding labour market. For us it is a chance to meet extraordinary and ambitious young people who in the years ahead may join our team or work in other important companies in BiH – future employees and leaders,” Maria Anargyrou-Nikolić said during the presentation of the project.

According to current estimates the youth unemployment rate in Bosnia and Herzegovina is more than 60%, making this a top priority issue for the Bosnian and Herzegovinian society.

“With a view to assist young people who will contribute to the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina through their work, we use every opportunity to support or be part of a project that will employ and help as many young people as possible to find employment.
It is a pleasure to support a program as important as this, conceived by Coca‑Cola HBC B-H Sarajevo, as we share the same goal - to increase youth employment. Through this project, Coca‑Cola provides young people with the opportunity to acquire work experience in an exceptional big business setting and, through practical work, allows them to adopt skills that can only be acquired through practice and, finally, motivates them to find a job, while our Department pursues the same purpose through its own co-financing programs and by supporting projects aimed at improving youth employment. Hence we are extremely pleased to support the promotion of the Coke Summership program this year, and I hope in the years to come as well,” said Igor Kamočaji, Director of the Sarajevo Canton Employment Service.

During the six-week program, participants will be acquiring experience by working three days a week on actual projects with mentors, and will spend two days of the week taking part in interactive lectures and workshops. Through this program, Coca‑Cola HBC Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to, in practical and applicable ways provide young people with a wide array of business skills and knowledge, as well as new experiences.
