Learn more, apply knowledge and move forward – #DiscoverDevelopSucceed
Sarajevo, 4 September 2017 – Implementation of the unique Coca Cola Youth Empowerment program to support young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina began in Sarajevo today. In September 200 young people will take part in this program, 100 in Sarajevo and 100 in the Banja Luka region. In addition to acquiring self-development and self-assessment skills, the participants will have the opportunity to learn about time management, project management, communication, negotiation, and sales skills, business planning as well as financial literacy.
Welcoming the participants and wishing them success on behalf of Coca Cola HBC B-H Sarajevo was Country Sales Manager for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Darko Šaravanja: “Youth unemployment is one of the major problems affecting our society. Over 63% of young people in Bosnia-Herzegovina are jobless. We are aware of the position of young people in our country, especially those who are looking for work. On the one hand the lack of skills and abilities required by modern business is a problem, as is the inability to acquire such competencies through practical experience. In keeping with our commitment to socially responsible business practices, Coca‑Cola HBC B-H Sarajevo is implementing the Coca Cola Youth Empowerment program to provide all those who have the desire and will to develop and improve their skills with the opportunity to distinguish themselves in an increasingly competitive job market. Through this program we want to contribute to youth employment in Bosnia-Herzegovina and help resolve one of the most significant issues faced by our society.”
On the first day, 50 participants from the first group of participants will actively work on developing their personal skills, and the following three days will be dedicated to intensive training for developing business skills. The program is designed to create a synergistic effect between theoretical knowledge and practical exercises, and is implemented by experienced mentors coming from all sectors of the Coca‑Cola system, who are volunteering their time and expertise to support the project and working together with an impressive line-up of lecturers.
The Coca Cola Youth Empowerment program is designed to recognise, develop, empower and motivate the participants, guiding them to success by giving them a competitive advantage in the labour market in areas with the greatest interest for this sort of education. The project has brought together relevant and educational institutions, NGO's, projects and other companies that are actively involved in youth employment and provide support to young people in the labour market. The four-week long Coca Cola Youth Empowerment program was launched with the slogan “Discover, Develop, Succeed”. The participants are divided into four groups of 50, which is the optimal number for monitoring and participation in training of this type and each group will undergo four days of training.
