Coca‑Cola HBC B-H d.o.o. Sarajevo has been named the most socially responsible company for 2010 in the DOBRO'10 national competition of businesses and organisations committed to responsible conduct of their business.
The company, a member of the Coca‑Cola Hellenic Group which has operations in 28 countries, was recognised for its efforts to incorporate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into every aspect of its activities.
The DOBRO’10 competition is part of a campaign run by Foundation Mozaik, the MaŠta agency, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC),a member of the World Bank, and aims to promote Corporate Social Responsibility in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The competition is held in three areas and two categories, with all participants competing for the main award.
The judging panel, consisting of national and international experts -- representatives of the German Embassy in BiH, the Embassy of the United Kingdom in BiH, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in BiH, International Finance Corporation in BiH, the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, the Balkan Community Initiatives Foundation from Serbia, National Foundation for Civil Society Development from Croatia and Open Society Fund Bosnia and Herzegovina -- acknowledged the company’s efforts and presented Coca‑Cola HBC B-H d.o.o. Sarajevo with its award at the final event of this year DOBRO competition.
“We are greatly encouraged by being chosen the winner against such strong competition. Sustainability is core of our business. Continuous contribution to sustainability of communities we serve is part of our mission. This award is recognition for all our efforts and successful implementation of our CSR strategy and the results achieved in implementing it in every aspect of our business conduct,” said Alma Šahbaz, Public Affairs and Communications Manager of Coca‑Cola HBC B-H d.o.o. Sarajevo.
“We hope that our efforts, as well as those of all who participated in this year’s DOBRO competition, will inspire and encourage others throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina to incorporate social responsibility in their businesses and operations”.
A total of 154 companies submitted questionnaires on their activities to the 2010 Dobro competition. Other participants included three telecoms companies and 19 banks. Winners of the competition categories - Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, BH Telecom, Heidelberg Cement B-H, NBL Bank and ASA Prevent- also competed for the main award.
As a socially responsible company of 2010 in Bosnia and Herzegovina Coca‑Cola HBC B-H d.o.o. Sarajevo is entitled to use the official CSR quality label DOBRO for one year.
