Having successfully organised the Fitness Day in Tuzla, Coca‑Cola has completed yet another event within the Movement is Happiness project. This unique sports and recreational event attracted more than 2,500 participants.

Tuzla, 18 September, 2014 – Coca‑Cola HBC B-H Sarajevo organised a Fitness Day on 17 September, 2014, in cooperation with Tuzla Municipality and ''Sloboda'', Workers Sports Association. The event was held in the big hall of the sports, cultural, and business center “Mejdan” in Tuzla. This activity was organised as part of the Movement is Happiness project.

“The idea of the Fitness Day was to inspire more people to lead an active life and to engage in various physical activities, particularly in such a fun way. The turnout was fantastic. Exercising, while sharing happiness and positive energy with more than 2,500 people was a special experience'', said Alma Šahbaz, the Communication and Community Relations Manager in Coca‑Cola HBC B-H Sarajevo. “Cooperation with the local community was crucial for the successful implementation of such a big event. We are happy to have had such great partners here in Tuzla”, she added.

Expert teams for physical condition assessment and the “Sloboda” staff were at everyone’s disposal during the program. Through various workshops, the participants were advised about the activities tailored to their particular needs and abilities.

“We are happy that Coca‑Cola chose to work with “Sloboda” Association as a partner in Movement is Happiness project, with the aim of emphasising the importance of physical activity for staying healthy.  It is also our pleasure to present  our work to the public: our clubs, our accomplishments, our athletes and professional staff, but also the possibilities we offer for everyone who wants to do sports and live actively”, said Aid Berbić, President of the Management Board of “Sloboda” Association.

The fitness program, tailored for this sports event, was carried out by experts from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports in Tuzla. Coca‑Cola provided refreshment for all the participants. DJ Borg, last year's Burn Residency Competition Winner, was in charge of the event's music and good atmosphere.

“Today's event was a completely new experience for me in Tuzla. I would be very happy to see such activities organised more often in my city”, said Meliha Redžić, one of the participants.

The Fitness Day also promoted environmental awareness and selective disposal of packaging waste. This activity was carried out by Ekopak, which also collected the onsite waste. Cooperation with the local community was of utmost importance for the successful realisation of such a big event. The project Movement is Happiness – Fitness Day was supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Tuzla Canton and the Pedagogical Institute of the Tuzla Canton. Professional support was given by the: Faculty of Physical Education and Sports in Tuzla, the Association of Medical Students “Medicus”, the Medical Centre Tuzla – Polyclinic for Sports Medicine and the Association of Educational Workers of the Tuzla Canton.
